China trip

During August 6 to 12 Ramin has visited China. Main purpose of the trip was to work with the Solar team in Urumqi to plan for the final Solar system installations under the project. Already about 62,000 rural households have been electrified. Only about 3,000 more families are going to be electrified before the project will come to a completion.

The majority of the customers belong to Chinese minorities, mainly Kazakh and Uyghur. These are Moslim communities and know how to make a good kebab!

Another speciality is the Nan bread that is baked in front of you while you wait..

These Nan breads are best when hot, but can be kept for longer periods of time.

This bakery is the most famous in Urumqi. People always stand in line to buy the Nan bread. It forms a great gift when visiting friends in other parts of China.

Xinjiang is also famous for its many fruits, particularly its grapes.

On his way back to Manila, Ramin has passed by Hangzhou where he visited the family he lived with in 1995.

The son of the family now has a 9 month old baby boy.
